Piezo4Spine at the 3rd Scientific Conference of the National Hospital for Paraplegics

The 3rd Scientific Conference of the National Hospital for Paraplegics, themed “Research, Rehabilitation, and Health,” recently convened leading experts, researchers, and clinicians dedicated to advancing spinal cord injury (SCI) treatment and rehabilitation. Hosted by the renowned National Hospital for Paraplegics in Toledo, Spain—a center recognized for its comprehensive care and pioneering research in spinal cord injuries —the conference provided a platform for sharing groundbreaking research and fostering collaborative efforts in the field.

Piezo4Spine’s Contributions

The Piezo4Spine project, committed to developing innovative solutions for spinal cord injury rehabilitation, was prominently represented by our partner SESCAM during the conference. Their contributions included:

  • Oral Presentation by Verónica Barranco Maresca: Effect of a biomimetic 3D matrix in combination with motor training as a treatment for spinal cord injury.

  • Poster Presentation by María de Lamo Atencia: In vitro assessment of neural network connectivity and function in the presence of iron oxide nanoparticles: a future strategy for spinal cord injury.

Many thanks to the SESCAM team for representing Piezo4Spine and advancing the conversation on innovative approaches in spinal cord injury rehabilitation and biomedical research.
